Equipment and Sanitation Supervisor /Chicago, IL Schiller Park, IL

Summary:  Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in duties concerned with sanitation programs in food processing establishment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for overseeing the work of the sanitation crew.
• Conduct the Pre-Operational SSOP inspection prior to the end of the crew’s shift and assure everything has been cleaned/sanitized for production to begin the next morning.
• Maintain the cleaning schedule logbook.
• Conduct maintenance inspections outlining all needs in the facility relating to maintenance issues.
• Conduct a Pre-Operational SSOP inspection for the warehouse/dock area/exterior of the facility on a daily basis.
• Monitor the chemical and cleaning supplies on hand.
• Verify dishwashers are monitoring chemical concentrations at both dish machines during the 3^rd shift. Will also check concentration of sanitizer used in the production dish room.
• Evaluate the carts used in the production areas to assure none that are soiled enter the production rooms.
• Record PM production room and cooler temperatures on monitoring log.
• Responsible for changing the running total of days on the safety boards throughout the plant.

• Must possess a basic understanding of food borne pathogens and how cleaning and sanitizing minimize this risk
• Required to know what the Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) are and how to use them

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Processing software.
• Food Sanitation Certificate a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises “4 to 5” employees in the Sanitation Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
